WA Buying Services was initially established in 1996 as a co-operative buying entity, to provide remote aboriginal sites with the entire needs of their community and school. This was a positive step forward for united Aboriginal community purchasing across Western Australia and still offers Aboriginal people equalities and opportunities that the main stream population have taken for granted for many years.

Since its inception in 1996, the dedicated team at WA Buying Serves (WABS) has gained extensive knowledge and experience in understanding and dealing with the difficulties faced not only by the Aboriginal Communities, but also by the Store Managers, employed to ensure the continual supply of groceries and fresh, healthy produce to the customer.

Purchasing through WABS provides a “one stop shop” enabling the store managers to place all orders through one system, therefore easing the frustrations of sourcing goods, arranging freight and the day to day associated problems.

The team at WABS strive to increase purchasing power of its existing remote stores, by inviting new clients to benefit from our services and therefore encourage suppliers to further reduce prices without compromising quality and service.

Unlike government agencies, we will only guide and encourage our clients to purchase healthy alternative lines through our list of major suppliers, such as:

Purchasing through WABS and Metcash for main grocery and freezer/chiller stock enables our clients to enjoy monthly specials with heavily reduced costs on many core lines.  WABS also provides a “personal” service to ensure that “what you order” is “what you get” .  If items are not available (out of stock/deleted lines etc) our staff will advise you of suitable substitutions for your consideration, prior to dispatch.

Collation of freight is organized via your nominated freight company.
